My currant charity is The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Southampton General Hospital.
Their goal is to raise funds for expensive equipment that needs updating, toys, baby equipment and in the near future their ambulance.
Children's Intensive Care Unit.
A message from Babymum.
We would like to introduce you to 'Friends of PICU'.
A charity that has been set up to help raise funds for much needed medical equipment.
The treatment could vary from major car accident victims to congenital heart disease sufferers.
Children from the whole of the south of England are taken to this unit and sometimes children from further away are brought here if there is no other specialist unit available.
The charity that supports this unit was set up by a nurse Rosie Mitchell along with a group of parents whose children had been on the unit.
All the funds raised go towards new specialist equipment to help with the treatment and recovery of these very sick children.
Funds also go towards helping and supporting families of sick children staying on the unit, they sometimes have to come from miles away and have nowhere to stay.
If you decide you cannot help with this particular event a donation to the charity itself would always be very much appreciated.
Our long-term goal is to be able to fund a bed on the Unit.
This would cost in the region of £500,000 per year.
As you can imagine this is an ambitious plan.
We are therefore looking for companies to adopt the charity.
If you would like any more details about this I would be glad to help.
